The 6.5 X 47 Lapua is a cartridge used by top shooters around the world. But the 6.5 X 47 is also a great cartridge for less experienced shooters, because it is an easy cartridge to develop accurate loads for.

Handloaders often talk about “accuracy nodes” which refers to how broad the powder charge can range and still produce consistently accurate shots. Some cartridges have very small accuracy nodes. Also, with some cartridges the frequency of those nodes is a lot less. But the 6.5 X 47 Lapua cartridge has a large number of accuracy nodes and those nodes cover a broad range. One 6.5 X 47 shooter put over 3,000 rounds through the same barrel, and even with that amount of throat wear is still shooting sub-MOA at 1,000 yards with the same load.

Peterson cartridge casings are annealed and final cleaned before leaving the factory packaged in heavy-duty plastic ammo boxes.
